Investigation NOW: Community

Through Investigation, I have worked as a lead art teacher for a class of 13-16-year-old students from a multitude of artistic backgrounds and skill levels under the theme of community. This class creates a place where art education can exist outside of the K-12 space to build community, artistic skills, and self reflection.

Peer Relationships and Classroom Community/Discovery

We focused on this theme for our first class, through scrapbooking, material exploration, and reflecting on ourselves, we were able to build a strong foundation of our classroom community and relationships!

This theme was the focus of our second and third classes, we furthered our self-reflections, discussed the past class, and how mediums, styles, and symbolism represent ourselves and how that can be used to create a self-representation that can be widely interpreted.
